Owner-managed by the Guerra family, this charming 17th century masseria (fortifi ed farmhouse) has been carefully restored and transformed in to a luxury fi ve-star hotel. Surrounded by ancient olive trees – some are more than 700 years old – the Melograno was amongst the very fi rst masserias to open its doors to guests in 1987. The 37 bedrooms, many situated around an ancient square fi lled with bougainvillea, lavender and pomegranate trees, have been individually furnished with antiques and equipped with modern facilities.
